Marathi Vishwa NJ’s first bus trup – Anandi Bhet – happened on Saturday, May 11, 2024. A day before Mother’s Day. It is very difficult to articulate our emotions on reaching the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

53 people were on board, and among them were five past MV women Presidents. It was a beautiful and sunny day and a perfect trip to go on especially on a Mother’s Day weekend.

The trip was a first for most women and men on board. We thank everyone who joined and also spoke at the site, throwing some more light on Dr. Anandi Bai Joshi’s life and achievements.

We ended the day by taking a walk on the ‘Walkway Over The Hudson’ bridge after having lunch. Everyone enjoyed a hot cup of coffee/tea along with donuts and we headed back to New Jersey dot on time.

Lastly we would like to take this opportunity to thank one of our Life Members, who made a donation of $1000 towards this trip thereby reducing the price of ticket for members.
