Children’s and Adults’ Drawing Competition 2026
The Children’s Drawing & Coloring Competition 2026
The Children’s Drawing Competition was a tremendous success. This competition continues to grow in popularity, with an increasing number of participants each year. We are delighted to share that 63 enthusiastic young artists took part in the event, showcasing exceptional creativity and imagination through their artwork.
The competition was held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, NJ. The registration process was smooth and efficient, with color-coded seating arrangements according to age groups. The competition lasted for two hours, during which parents could relax, network, and enjoy refreshments in a separate room. At the conclusion of the event, each participant received a small gift as a token of appreciation , a certificate, pizza slices, and juice.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Kumud and Mr. Chetan Wattamwar for their generous contribution of $1,000 toward the MV Drawing & Coloring Competition for the fourth consecutive year.
Adults Drawing Competition – A New Creative Initiative
Marathi Vishwa introduced an exciting new initiative this year by organizing an Adults Drawing Competition alongside the Children’s Drawing Competition. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with close to 20 enthusiastic artists participating with great excitement. The adults’ competition was conducted in a separate room, creating a comfortable and focused environment for participants.
It was deeply satisfying to witness such a vibrant and creative atmosphere throughout the building. It was amazing to see parents and children both participating, making it a truly family-oriented creative experience! We were happy and thankful by the surprise visit and encouragement from MV Ex-President Mrs. Pratima Lele as well as Mrs. Ranjana Deshmukh, who plays an important role in leading the MV Gita Jayanti celebrations.
This initiative was conceptualized by MV Board Member and Secretary Dipti Karkhanis. We are extremely pleased with the interest shown and are happy to announce that the Adults Drawing Competition will continue next year as well.
The artistic, colorful, and creative artworks for both the Children and Adults competitions were judged by our esteemed patron judges, Aparna Deshpande and Swaroopa Gadgil. We sincerely thank them for their expertise, time, and hard work in judging the large number of drawings.
Both the competitions were co-led by MV Board Members Dipti Karkhanis and Kanchan Joshi. Both these events ran smoothly with support from MV Board Members, Vrushali Bhawtankar, Salil Parkar, and Mandar Kelkar.
The event would not have been possible without our amazing team of volunteers, Snehal Vaze, Sonali Bhavthankar, Preety Desai, Amruta Patwardhan, Dipti Kelkar, Manasi Karnik and Shailesh Karkhanis; and our MV Teen volunteers, Atharva Sonawane, Anushri Hanchalkar, Avani Farkade, Ishita Karkhanis, Malhar Joshi and Maya Desai.
The Marathi Vishwa Committee sincerely thanks all the young and adult participants, as well as our dedicated volunteers, for braving the bitter cold and windy Saturday to support and contribute to the success of this event. Your commitment and enthusiasm are truly appreciated.
