Namaskar to our Marathi Vishwa Members.

It’s been a busy couple of months for me and the new Board. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our members for their continued support for Marathi Vishwa, now in its 44th year.

We started off the year with in-person musical program at Ganeshotsav with Smt. Rucha Jambhekar and Shri. Hemant Kulkarni as our invited musical artistes. Diwali program soon followed on October 30th and the theatrical presentation of Moruchi Moushi presented by Bharat Jadhav and team was a resounding success. Diwali was also the occasion for publishing our Rangadeep Diwali अंक and we had the pleasure of inviting our very own Senior member, Mr. Nanda Padte, for the अंक प्रकाशन.

I would like to thank all MV Committee Team Members who took the onus of distributing Rangadeep/Kalnirnay and Faraal packets from their homes to members who could not attend the Diwali Program.

Rangadeep team was also invited by Maharashtra Mandal New York for their Diwali program and ‘अंक प्रकाशन सोहळा’. During this time the MV Vishwankur team was busy with their Saree Drive and amassed a huge inventory. Pre-worn and pre-loved sarees/women’s dresses were donated in huge amounts by the community and we saw a brisk sale – online as well as in person. Saree sale figures are still being tallied but are upwards of $8,500. We also held our first MV Teens meeting which saw a small response but we are confident of building momentum soon.

The very popular and active MV Club55 members recently hosted their Holiday Party and saw a great turnout. I met a lot of our senior members here and their program lineup was fantastic. Thanks for inviting me! MV Yoga has also been consistently running their Zoom sessions and we have seen many new teachers sign up to teach. A big thanks to Satish and Snehal Tamhankar for keeping this program running. MV Outdoors team also did their first hike of the season at Palisades State Park and this event was led by Niranjan Deo. This was also the first year of the MV 5K Turkey Trot during Thanksgiving weekend and I sincerely hope we keep this new tradition going.

MV also celebrated Geeta Jayanti a few weeks back and we had a great response. Currently going on – the MV Christmas Tree competition. If you have not seen the flyer, head over to Facebook or check your mailbox for details. Do sign up!

What’s next?

Sankrant, Children’s Art competition, Sahitya Kunja, Swaradhara, The Sunil Dhavalikar Memorial 180 Miles Challenge, and Vasantotsav flyers and placeholders will hit your mailbox soon.

In addition, we are also planning Virtual art classes, Teen Bowling event, Young Adults Social, Sakhya events, and a trip to volunteer at a local Food Bank. Stay tuned and help support Marathi Vishwa by signing up for these events.

Teens and parents should also be on the lookout for the MV Anandi Gopal Scholarship, The MF MV Social Award, and The MV ANYA Scholarship application requests.

Wishing you all a peaceful holiday season with family and friends.
