Vasantotsav 2024 – A talent show for children!
Refreshing Spring weather, youthful exuberance of our kids, excitement of the parents and choreographers, awesome and novel song, dance, and skit performances, inspiring interviews of our young achievers and award ceremonies for our exceptionally talented children – this in a nutshell was our Marathi Vishwa Vasantotsav event held last Sunday April 28, 2024 at the Community Middle School in Plainsboro, NJ.
Vasantotsav is an event to provide a platform for our member children to demonstrate their talent in the area of performing arts. We also recognize and honor our young members who have achieved outstanding success in varied areas. Not only was our mission successful but the children also received a tremendous learning opportunity to boost their sense of cultural identity and foster community spirit.
The kids’ performances were unique and presented in a novel way while at the same time providing education about the folk traditions, festivals, language and attire of Maharashtra. All the parents and choreographers did a great job with costumes, props, song and dance choices and getting the kids ready to perform. To all of them and our young performers, a big THANK YOU, for all the hard work they put in.
Our winners of the Young Achievers, Drawing & Coloring Competition, The MV ANYA Excellence, Anandi Gopal Scholarship, and Maharashtra Foundation Marathi Vishwa Social awards made us really inspired and proud.
The whole day went like a clockwork as per our schedule and for this we thank the individual performing teams.
Our volunteers did a fabulous job of decorating the venue, managing the sound system, audio clips, managing kids entry and stage exit, lunch and backstage activities. We thank them for their selfless support for this event.
Our food vendor Nagpuri Saoji had tasty dishes for people to purchase. Our young Emcees – Ishita and Sargum, did a great job of keeping the audience engaged and informed.
Committee Members leading this event were Kanchan Joshi, Dipti Karkhanis, Anagha Yerande and Mandar Kelkar.
