Vasantotsav 2025

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Marathi Vishwa proudly celebrated another successful Children’s Vasantotsav event on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Community Middle School, Plainsboro, NJ. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from participants and attendees alike, who came together to support and cheer for the young generation.

This year, we introduced a special highlight to the program by inviting  first-place winners of the vocal and devotional singing category from the MV Swara Dhara competition. Arushi Mehta, Gauree Deshmukh, and Sargam Godbole delivered a beautiful rendition of the Swagat Geet, setting the perfect tone for the event. We were thrilled to host 22 diverse programs with a staggering 162 performers from towns across New Jersey. Our energetic and eloquent young emcees, Ananya Nanivadekar and Aditya Sonawane, did a fantastic job of keeping the event running smoothly throughout the day.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the event was seeing students from all Marathi Shalas across NJ come together under one roof. The day’s lineup featured a vibrant mix of performances including singing, dance, drama, music medleys, fusion acts, a puppet show, and classical Kathak Bols. A standout moment was the extraordinary performance by the special needs children, which received a heartfelt standing ovation from the audience.

We applaud and thank all the directors, coordinators, and performers for their dedication and hard work in bringing every act to life with perfection. It was truly inspiring to see even our youngest participants take the stage with such enthusiasm and confidence.

Boxed lunches were available from our food vendor Mejwaani, while performers enjoyed pizza and snack bags. One trophy per performance was awarded to the respective art directors, and each performer went home with a trophy and a smile for their well-earned recognition. During the event, trophies and certificates were presented to the previously announced  winners of the MV Drawing & Coloring and Kavya Dhara competitions. Additionally, recipients of the MV Scholarships and Awards were honored with trophies, certificates, and award money, as applicable. A detailed email with all the highlights and results regarding the various awards was shared with the community shortly after the event.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team of 20+ volunteers—your tireless work across multiple fronts made this day-long celebration possible. We extend special gratitude to the talented duo, Prasad Pandare and Yogesh Pandare, for  voluntarily capturing stunning photos and videos of the daylong event, beautifully documenting every memorable moment. Their continued support and passion for community service are deeply appreciated.

Vasantotsav event was successfully led by MV board members Dipti Karkhanis and Trushna Thakur with unwavering support from the other board members Priya Godbole, Roopali Gune, Salil Parkar, Shalaka Sawant, Sheetal Gaiki, Vrushali Bhawtankar, Mandar Kelkar and trustee, Vihar Deshpande.
