MV Diwali 2023

Thank you all for appreciating the MV Diwali event held on Dec 2. We want to thank our volunteers for helping us out with the event and for both the morning and afternoon program artists, for making this event a memorable one.

The morning program presented by Sachin Raje with Pradnya Jadhav, ‘Andaz Mera Nirala’, took our members on a musical journey of songs from the golden era of Hindi films. Sachin Raje also emceed the program and shared anecdotes, little known facts and stories about the composers, singers and the movies itself making this program one to remember.

After a sumptuous Maharashtrian jevan by Mejwani of Edison, NJ, we had our Rangadeep Prakashan ceremony. Our invited guest, Dr. Mrs. Meena Nerurakar, was gracious to speak a few words about the efforts taken by the Rangadeep team and commend them for keeping the Marathi tradition of ‘Diwali Anka’ alive. She was joined on stage by our invited guests – MMNY President Sanjay Gokhale, Editors – Arati Deshpande, Pooja Ghate, Anika Ajgaonkar and Saanvi Phanasgaonkar.

At Marathi Vishwa’s special request, Pandita Guru Archana Joglekar presented us with “Ram Dhanu”, depicting scenes from Lord Rama’s life and Ramayana. She was accompanied by her talented students from Archana Nrityalaya. It was all that we had asked for and more. This custom program mesmerized the audience and enthralled us. Guru Archana Joglekar weaved her magic and her preamble for each dance piece led us through a visual feast leaving nothing to the imagination. We were all truly blessed to see this performance.

We hope everyone enjoyed the Goodie bags and the faraal inside. Thank you, dear members, for being with us on this memorable day to celebrate MV Diwali.

Special Thanks to Raj Salwi for taking event pictures, Praful for help with sound and our lunch ladies – Kiran and Debbie for lunch setup, kitchen help and clean-up. You all helped tremendously.
